At Eye Images,
we believe eyewear can be too inexpensive. Our least expensive pair of glasses
is $98.00. We believe, to be substantially less expensive, we would have to
sacrifice the quality of the frame and lenses (i.e. welds, screws, hinges, the
finish of the frame, durability, and the adjustability of the product). Consumer
Report seems to agree with us in that smaller companies do a better job and
compete very well against the big chains.
We manufacture over 90% of our
eyewear in house for quality control and savings to keep prices reasonable.
If you price shop the same
eyewear products at different companies, its important to remember your paying
to have something custom built just for you, so comparing the price is only part
of the story.
With our smaller size and
in-house lab we have been able to keep our prices low and still use only the
lenses from the best of the manufacturers.
Its the job of the optician to
make sure the products selected, measured for you and constructed will interact
together to produce an instrument which works with your lifestyle.
Most people mistakenly blame
themselves for their eyewear problems instead of the shortcomings of a bad pair
of eyeglasses.
You
probably wear
YOUR glasses most of your waking hours. Since eyewear is important, treat
yourself,
You wear them on your face!
- Progressive Invisible Bifocals
-
There are over 35 different progressive
invisible bifocal designs. Some manufacturers even offer more that one
design. An older design along with a newer updated one, or two
different designs are offered to satisfy different applications or
different retail price points. We have found the Varilux Comfort and
Sola Percepta to be very nice lenses with a high degree of user
adaptability.
Progressive invisible bifocals are not for
everyone. It is the job of the optician to help you decide which lens,
visible or invisible, would be best for your application. It's the job
of the optician to make sure the lenses will work in the selected
frame and are measured properly for you. Opticians are like everyone
else, not all are the same.

No unsightly line
*
Gradual change in power from top to bottom
results in no image jump as is found in line style
bifocals.
*
As your needs for close up power increases, these
lenses will give vision at all
distances.
- Thin Lightweight Lenses
-
These lenses are divided into two basic
categories, polycarbonate and high index. Polycarbonate has the
highest impact resistance, but its visual quality isn't as good as
high index. We believe high index offers the best overall performance
package. Both lens designs have their place in the retail market.
Lighter lenses mean less overall eyewear weight which is always for
the best. These lenses are also thinner so they are more cosmetically
appealing. It is the job of the optician to help you decide which lens
material is best for your application.

Less weight means less eyeglass awareness

Less sliding sown the nose
- Flexon Flexible Titanium Frames
-
Titanium is considered to be the best or one
of the best frame materials because it's anti corrosive, strong, and
lightweight. Some manufacturers are marketing their frames as
titanium, but are not 100% titanium. Sometimes as little as 51% just
so they can say their titanium. Even the quality of manufacturers
using 100% titanium can vary considerably depending on the engineering
and welding of the frame. Flexon is a wonderful innovation in eyewear.
Although they are not 100% titanium, the resulting alloy is very
flexible and results in a frame with great livability.
-
* Flexible with wonderful memory
*
No mechanical springs to jam or fail
*
Very corrosive resistant
*
Much lighter in weight than a regular frame
- Acuvue Bifocal Lenses
-
Bifocal contact lenses are not for everyone,
but if your prescription and eye physiology fall within the guidelines
for this lens, it's great. All the advantages of disposable contacts
combines with the ability to see distance and near. Terrific
technology!

* Comfortable

Easy maintenance
*
Works surprisingly well
- Polarized Lenses
-
In our opinion,
polarized sunglass lenses are the best. The polarizer eliminates light
in the horizontal plane wiping glare away. A non-polarizing sunglass
only dampens glare. Polarized lenses have been around a long time but
have been improved significantly by the better manufacturers
eliminating the quality control and durability problems of the past.
They are available in a wide range of lens colors to satisfy different
applications and come in almost any lens material. They are well worth
the extra price.
